 Fuhrer
Field House is a 55,000 square-foot multipurpose sports and fitness
complex that allows for four regulation-size basketball courts, seven
volleyball courts and two tennis courts, a baseball/softball batting
cage, and a 160-meter competition running track. The Dutcher Fitness
Center provides a weight-training venue for all students. Fuhrer Field
House underwent a major renovation in 2001. Changes included new
bleachers that surround the court and allow for seating for 1,900 fans,
a new Mondo track surface, as well as new lighting and sound systems.
In 2005, a newly expanded Athletic Training Room was opened, featuring
more than 5,000 square feet for treatment, staff offices, a physician's
exam room, and new equipment.Plans for expanding Fuhrer are underway. Drawings call for the addition of more than 75,000 square feet, including five practice floors, a performance gymnasium with seating for 1,200, a fitness center, an eight-lane swimming pool and whirlpool, and nine locker rooms.
